Our collection of inventory represents what we call S Cubed:
S Cubed represents 3 types of clothing: Samples, Surplus and Seconds. Find out more about each category below.
Samples Inventory
Clothing samples, which are prototypes made before full production begins, often end up being discarded in landfills.
Samples that are used in showrooms, tradeshows and more are production quality garments not sold at brand's stores.
Surplus Inventory
Retailers are sitting on $740 billion in unsold goods.
There is enough clothing currently on the planet to dress the next six generations of humans.
85% of clothing ends up in landfills.
Seconds Inventory
"Seconds" include both customer returns and minor flawed clothing which we fix prior to selling.
Online shopping which we have become accustomed to means many more returns - there is a 40% overall return rate online. When goods are returned, less than half of them are resold at all.
When someone tries on a blouse and gets self-tanner on it, or breaks the zipper trying to get it on, the stores get rid of it. We fix these items so they are perfect and sell them reduced to you.
Diverting clothing from landfills
It’s hard to believe but over 85% of clothes end up in the trash. It’s over 100 pounds per person per year in the US and is occupying nearly 10% of our landfills.
